By Movieguide® Contributor
Andrea Bocelli fans are in for a holiday treat as he and his son and daughter, Matteo and Virginia, release their new Christmas album A Family Christmas.
It will feature 13 tracks, including such classics as “Away In A Manger,” “Do You Hear What I Hear?” and “The First Noel.”
The album will also include the original song “The Greatest Gift,” a song that “perfectly showcases all three of their amazing vocals” blogger Baubles Sugargreen said.
This will be the first time the trio have recorded an album together, and will be doing an 11-stop tour in December. The album will be released October 21st.
Movieguide® previously reported on Andrea’s excitement in working on this album with his family:
“There’s nothing more beautiful than making music with your kids,” Bocelli said. “I consider it a privilege.”
“We are offering our small, intimate, and heartfelt gift to anyone who wishes to enjoy the soundtrack of Christmas in the Bocelli home,” the family wrote.
“Singing these songs together, feeling the holiday warmth with my family is something really special,” Matteo added. “That’s what Christmas is about – making memories together to cherish forever. It’s really exciting to think that people will have a copy of our album sitting wrapped under the tree.”
Virginia(10) the youngest of Bocelli’s three children also shared her enthusiasm to work with her father and brother Matteo (24), “I was pretty excited, not just for Daddy but especially for Matteo, because I’ve never really done anything musically with him,” the young singer told USA Today.
Despite the brief studio time to record the album, Matteo sees the benefit of the quick process.
“When you make music in a short time, you get the first emotions. You don’t really overthink it,” Matteo says. “Most of the time, it’s good to get the first takes of your voice.” The Bocellis will also be performing their songs in A BOCELLI FAMILY CHRISTMAS airing on TBN in December.
