After nearly 10 years away from the show, Brooke Shields announced her return to WHEN CALLS THE HEART.
“Charlotte Thornton is back,” Shields said in a video posted by Hallmark. “I’m so happy to return to WHEN CALLS THE HEART this all-new season.”
Her first appearance in WHEN CALLS THE HEART came in 2016 in two episodes as the late Jack Thornton’s mother.
Fans were ecstatic to hear the news of Shields’ return.

“So excited for this upcoming season!! And for the return of Jack’s mom!” one person wrote.
Another said, “I can’t wait to start watching it again! She is one of my favorite actresses to watch!! ❤️ I will be returning to watch When Calls the Heart ❤️ Thank you, Hallmark, for bringing Brooke Shields back!!!”

According to Variety, Shields will appear in three episodes for Season 13.
Charlotte first arrived in Hope Valley on horseback to see her son, Jack. At that time, she also met Elizabeth, who would eventually become her daughter-in-law.
However, Jack died at the end of Season 5, and now Elizabeth “is in a serious relationship with Nathan Grant (Kevin McGarry). How Elizabeth’s former mother-in-law will mesh with her new man remains to be seen — but Charlotte and Elizabeth have more pressing matters to address,” PEOPLE reported.
This upcoming season will see Charlotte connect with her grandson, also named Jack, “as she helps him reconnect with memories of his father.”
“We’re thrilled to welcome back Brooke Shields to the ‘When Calls the Heart’ family,” Michelle Vicary, head of programming, Hallmark Media, said. “Her first appearance on the series was memorable for our fans, and we know the Hearties will be delighted to see Charlotte’s emotional and heartwarming reunion.”
WHEN CALLS THE HEART was renewed for Season 13 in March,

WHEN CALLS THE HEART Season 13 will debut in 2026 on the Hallmark Channel, streaming the next day on Hallmark+.
