Candace Cameron Bure is the queen of the Christmas romcom, but how far will she take it on set? She answered the question with Jon Crist on the Net Positive podcast.
Bure was initially inspired by her brother, Kirk Cameron, who chose to kiss his wife — and not another actress — in FIREPROOF.
“In the movie FIREPROOF — and I think that’s the last movie my brother acted in — he did that. My brother has produced some documentary films since, but he hasn’t acted in a long time. This was at least 20 years ago,” Candace explained to Crist. “In FIREPROOF, there was a kiss between the husband and wife at the end, and they filmed it in silhouette. His wife, Chelsea, stepped in because he didn’t want to have any kind of intimacy that way with anyone else. I think that’s awesome.”

While Bure doesn’t hold to that particular standard in her own movies, she and her husband have very strong boundaries.
“Everyone goes, ‘Well, why can’t you do it like your brother? Why can’t you always put your husband in?’ And I go, because it was literally one movie, and it was a special way in which they did that — you can’t do that for every movie,” Bure said.
“But it comes down to conviction, and I fully respect it. My husband and I have a different boundary, which isn’t far off from that, trust me. But I bet there would be some scenarios where the spouse is like, ‘I’m in — I don’t want to come all the way down to the sound studio just to do that.’ I don’t know if every spouse would want to,” she added.
Bure’s latest project, ANOTHER SWEET CHRISTMAS, will hit theaters on November 30 and will run through December 2.
Bure shared several behind-the-scenes photos from the set of ANOTHER SWEET CHRISTMAS.
She captioned the post, “Tis the season for Another Sweet Christmas, and I’ve got a ‘save the date’ just for you! ❤️🎄 That’s right, on November 30th, Sophie and Sam’s love story continues exclusively on the BIG SCREEN.🤩 So pack your eggnog and Christmas cookies, and join us at a theater near you!”
ANOTHER SWEET CHRISTMAS will be a “special holiday event that celebrates the timeless joy of Christmas and the beauty of love found under the glow of twinkling lights,” Great American Family wrote in a press release.
