Caroline Jones of the Zac Brown Band shares her love of motherhood through her music, recently penning a song with parents in mind.
“I really hope people scream this chorus out at the top of their lungs because no matter what your life looks like, you do all the things as a mom,” the singer/songwriter told Parents of her song “All The Things.” “It can be so overwhelming, and sometimes it’s not celebrated in the way that it should be.”
She added, “I hope people listen to the verses and maybe relate to some of the fears that I had about becoming a mom, some of the self-doubt of what my career would look like, or what my life would look like. Those changes can be really intimidating.”
She welcomed her first child, a son named Declan, last year. Just four months later she went on tour with Kenny Chesney and the Zac Brown Band.
“The travel and being on the road with a really young human is not an easy thing,” Jones said, later adding “I have a demanding job and, trust me, motherhood is way harder.”
Some of the lyrics read: “I can rock the baby, I can chase the dream, I can plant the garden in the in between.”
Though any parent can relate to aspects of “All The Things,” Jones wrote it with her husband, Nick Dana, in mind. The pair wed in 2021.
“It’s also a love letter to my husband and my support system because without him, I wouldn’t be able to stand on stage and do what I love,” she explained.
She shared more last week in her Instagram post announcing the song.
“This song captures the last 2 years of my life touring and navigating this career with a new baby,” she wrote. “It’s also a love letter to my husband whose true-blue support and engagement allows me to do what I love. This is an anthem for all Moms doing ALL the things 🙌🏼”
People in the comment section showed their support.
“Pregnant with my first and this is giving me all the feels!” one person said. Another person added, “Love this song and what a blessing to have such a beautiful family ❤️🙌🙏”
Jones has been part of the Zac Brown Band since 2021, though the group originally began in 2004. So far, the band has received three Grammys and continues to make award-winning music.
Jones’ new song is an encouragement to parents everywhere that they aren’t alone.
