Check Out Tapestry: The World’s New Timeline App
By Movieguide® Contributor
Twitterific’s maker, Iconfactory, just developed a new handy tool that combines your favorite feeds into one app — it’s called Tapestry.
It can take Tumblr and Bluesky posts, YouTube videos and podcasts all into one feed in chronological order. No algorithms, just timelines, according to The Verge.
Tapestry allows users to filter their content. By picking keywords, the app will make content with those words smaller or remove them from your timeline altogether. You can search across all feeds or make timelines within timelines.
The feed looks similar to Twitter, allowing you to click on a block of content to expand it and see the full post or video. To remove ads, unlock custom timelines, do content muting or customize themes, it costs $1.99 a month, $19.99 a year, or you can pay a one-time fee of $79.99.

It’s easy on the eyes, with color-coded content, and it’s private, too. The app works only with data stored on your device, so your searches and views are completely private.
“There’s no server tracking what you’re loading and no third-parties watching as you scroll or search through content. Even our ads are private!” Iconfactory states on its website.
Iconfactory has been working on Tapestry for nearly two years — ever since it discontinued its Twitterific app. Ten months into their Tapestry idea, the app started gained ground on Kickstarter, earning funding from 3,369 investors.
“Our goal was to put RSS, social media, podcasts, and more into a flexible and easy-to-read timeline. Tapestry syncs this variety of feeds across devices in a way that is seamless, secure, and easy to understand,” said Craig Hockenberry, principal at Iconfactory.
Other timeline apps have emerged too, like Surf, Reeder, Unread and Feeeed. These offer quicker access to your favorite content. For example, it’s easier to find a YouTube video from your favorite channel on these timeline apps than if you search for it on YouTube itself.
There are limitations, though. On most timeline apps, you can’t interact like you would on a typical social media platform. There are no likes, comments or messaging features on Tapestry.
