Actress Cheryl Hines revealed the hypocrisy she sees in Hollywood as she has received major backlash for being married to Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who serves as the Health and Human Services Secretary for Donald Trump during his second presidential term.
“I have compassion for those actors and entertainers who really want people to know where they stand morally, I suppose. [But] I’ve never been one of them. I’ve been a person who has not been politically inclined,” Hines told the Times of London. “But it is eye-opening to see people really wanting to tell you how much their morals do not line up with, say, the present administration, because they don’t like hate or judgment.”
“But then that’s like exactly what they inflict on other people,” she added, pointing out the blatant hypocrisy. “‘We’re inclusive. We like everybody regardless. Except her. She’s married to this guy and I don’t like that guy.’”

Unfortunately, many actors who hold strong to Christian or conservative beliefs have faced a similar experience. Zachary Levi, for example, recently explained how his unwillingness to blindly follow liberal beliefs has impacted his career.
“I might go so far as to say I was graylisted, I guess,” Levi told Fox News Digital earlier this month. “I’m still getting jobs, and I’m still grateful – very grateful – to be working. And I still have a lot of friends in the industry, people who still want to work with me.”
“There’s definitely been a lot of blowback and pushback. There are people in the industry who don’t want to work with me – because I had the audacity to say I didn’t think Kamala Harris was the right choice in our last election and because I called corporations like Pfizer to account…” the SHAZAM! actor added. “I am pro-science. I am pro-health. I am pro-human. I’m a libertarian, I’m not even conservative.”
While Hollywood continues to be largely hostile for conservatives and Christians, it is encouraging to see the tides starting to change.
Much of this change stems from the recent success of Christian media which has grown the genre immensely. Projects like THE CHOSEN and SOUND OF FREEDOM to the more recent HOUSE OF DAVID have proven to Hollywood that the Christian audience is massive, and some studios have begun catering to it, creating a place for Christians to thrive in the industry.
Nonetheless it is discouraging to hear that Hines is receiving so much hate simply because her husband is a part of the Trump administration.
