Marvel actor Chris Pratt is throwing out the Hollywood rulebook and sharing his Christian faith.

“Conventional wisdom in this business would say just don’t talk politics and don’t talk religion,” Pratt told Relevant Magazine.“I definitely feel that way about politics. I’m not passionate about politics enough to alienate a number of my fans who may disagree about one thing or another.”

He added, “But I am that passionate about my faith.”

“If it alienates people — which I hope it doesn’t, and I hope I don’t do it in a way that’s alienating, because I’m not trying to condemn anybody — I’m trying to bring God’s love. That’s it,” Pratt said.

The actor acknowledged that there were moments early on in his career where he was willing to be “a little provocative” to get acting roles, but once he became a father, everything changed.

“How it’s affected my life is basically by using my platform periodically to express my faith,” he explained. “I don’t know if that’s had an impact on me as a commodity, but I can tell you it has had an impact on people who’ve come up to me in the street and said, ‘Hey, that’s really cool you say that.’”

Pratt continued, “I’m also really hoping that there’s the one out there who’s been praying for a sign and they see an Instagram video of me and they’re like, ‘Maybe that’s the sign.’ I love the idea that this whole thing was orchestrated so that I could help bring God into people’s lives.”

“I think that would be the greatest outcome,” he finished. “Even if I never worked again, that was all I was known for. That would make me feel good.”

In a 2025 interview with the Christian Post, Pratt made similar comments, saying, “I care enough about Jesus to take a stand, even if it costs me. It could cost me everything, but I don’t care. It’s worth it to me because this is what I’m called to do, it’s where my heart is.”

The JURASSIC WORLD star often speaks about his faith and how it has served as a guide in the entertainment industry.

“There’s this Christine Caine quote that says, ‘If the light that shines upon you is greater than the light that’s within you, then the light that shines upon you will kill you,’” he said during a recent appearance on the TODAY show. “And you see it in our business, man. You see people who have the world…and they just are so unhappy.”

“People have this light that shines on them, and it can really make you unhappy and unsettled and turn to things that are not good for you. And, so, for me, it’s really grounding, man. It’s good for me. It’s good for my family. Good for my wife, good for my life,” he continued.

For Pratt, boldly proclaiming his faith is more important than any Hollywood success.
