The premiere for Danica McKellar and Trevor Donovan’s new movie, GROUNDED IN LOVE, is almost here.

The movie follows, “a spirited, Manhattan-based flight attendant, [who] thrives on adventure and freedom, until an unexpected airline merger grounds her career and a breakup with a self-absorbed boyfriend leaves her questioning everything. Searching for clarity, Annie takes a road trip to her grandmother’s rural Kentucky farm – a place she hasn’t visited in years, though holds close to her heart.”

During her travels, Annie reconnects with a childhood friend who changes everything. It will premiere on Great American Pure Flix on Aug. 7.

McKellar took to Instagram to share about the film with her followers. With a photo of her and Donovan, McKellar said,

“Movie Premiere Announcement!!” McKellar posted on Instagram along with a photo of her and Donovan, who hosted the Movieguide® Awards together in 2024. “My sweet film GROUNDED IN LOVE with @trevordonovan will debut on @greatamericanpureflix Aug 7th, and on @greatamericanfamily Sept 27th!! I play a flight attendant who comes home to care for her grandmother only to find her ex-boyfriend has moved back to town. 😋😁.”

People in the comment section shared excitement for the film. “These movies make my heart smile! Thank you!” one fan said. Another person added, “Oh my goodness!! I can hardly wait! ❤️🙌”

McKellar has shifted her Hollywood career towards uplifting and faith-based content.

“I stopped acting for four years. I just needed to find out who else I was,” she previously said. “For me, the way I could find out was just to do something else and really exercise my brain and let go of all the glamour and superficiality of Hollywood. That was really empowering to me.”

As far as joining GAF, she said, “This is a wonderful experience for me. It’s been amazing, because I got to write the script with someone else,” she said of her last film, A CINDERELLA CHRISTMAS BALL. She continued, “It’s the first time my name is on the script for one of these movies, and it’s really gratifying. Plus, I get to waltz in it! I love ballroom dance, as I think everybody knows who follows me on social media.”

McKellar also shared that becoming a Christian three years ago was the best decision of her life: “Three years ago, I came into my faith fully. I used to have a lot of biases about religion, but I’ve realized it’s not about rules, it’s about relationship. That changed everything.”

It’s wonderful to see McKellar put her faith into practice as she creates uplifting movies anyone can enjoy.
