Christian artist Danny Gokey reminds us that we often don’t see when God is moving — but He is constantly at work in unnoticed moments in our lives.
“It’s easy to overlook the moment you’re in,” Gokey shared in a video on his Instagram this week, “but that might be where God is doing his deepest work.”
“‘🪞Objects in mirror may be closer than they appear’ …and maybe the work God is doing in this moment is deeper than you can see right now! 👀” Gokey added in the caption.
He also shared a clip of his song, “Only for a Moment,” which reminds listeners that God has a purpose for their life. Some of the lyrics are:
You are not on your own
Planted where you are
So let the rain help you grow
The harvest isn’t far
‘Cause something beautiful is on the way
Where you are is not where you were made to stay…
Danny Gokey highlighted the meaning of his song in a story that one of his fans, Shannon, shared with him. She was a drug addict who was in and out of jail over 27 years. While driving one day, she pulled over and begged God to intervene in her life, or she would kill herself. She turned on the radio, and Gokey’s “Tell Your Heart to Beat Again” was playing.

She believes that God sent her a message through that song. Now, she’s been sober for three years and shares her story with other addicts across America.
“🤯 Blown away by powerful testimonies like Shannon’s about how God has used my music to literally save people’s lives, so they can then use their stories to help others! 🙌🙌🙌,” Gokey wrote. “Know that whatever you’re going through, God is still working in and through you for His glory! Trust that this season is ‘only for a moment’ and that there is a bigger, more beautiful story being written in your life, so don’t give up! 🫶🏻”
Danny Gokey says the message of his song is all about hope.
“Even when things look dark, there is a promise of something beautiful on the other side 🌅 Just like when a seed is planted, it might seem like the end, BUT it’s just the beginning!”
“So, if it feels like something is dying in your life today, know that nothing is wasted with God and He is working everything together for your good! 👏🏻”
