Danny Gokey’s New Album Echoes the ‘Sound of Heaven’

Christian artist Danny Gokey is opening up about his new album Sound of Heaven and what he hopes his fans take away from it.
“This project was really unique. As it turns out, it’s the reflection of all the different sides of me,” he told Fox News host Shannon Bream. “It’s, you know, very celebratory but…it starts with a prayer, like ‘Lord, what do you want to write through me?’ Because God is the greatest songwriter of all time. He’s the greatest artist of all time. We’re His children, so I’m thinking, like, I’m going right to the source.”
Gokey explained how as he wrote the album, he noticed all of the songs sounded very different from each other.
“I knew that heaven was so diverse, and heaven is reflected with different sounds, so it all just came together,” he said.
The singer continued by reflecting on how beautiful diversity is and how we need to embrace the differences around us.
“Our thinking becomes small when we don’t embrace everything that’s around us. We become very small-minded, unfortunately. I just think when people get to heaven, they’re going to be shocked, you know, at how amazing and how diverse and how awesome [it is],” he told Bream.
This week, Gokey took to Instagram to encourage his followers to not be afraid and to promote the album.
“Are you afraid? Worried? Feeling hopeless? 😔 ‘GOD’S NOT!!!’ 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼 Rest in knowing that He is fighting on your behalf, and when you’re thinking that things are over, God’s not! Just 3 days til you can be encouraged by all the promises in this song, and the rest of ‘Sound Of Heaven’ too! ☁️🎶☁️,” he wrote.
Movieguide® previously reported on Gokey’s new album.
“The album ‘includes his usual upbeat, hope-filled songs but also includes a track that warns about the deceptive nature of evil and urges the church to “wake up” to the lies society has embraced,’ Crosswalk Headlines reported June 26… The 11-track album comes out on July 26. Limoblaze, Niko Eme, Naomi Raine and Evan Craft join Gokey on some of the tracks.”
The tracklist includes:

“The phrase ‘Sound of Heaven,’ and each of the songs on this album, will mean different things to different people in different places of life, and I believe that each of these songs communicate the hopeful messages of heaven in ways that will speak to people – whatever their season of life,” Gokey told CCM Magazine.
