Marvel fans last saw Daredevil in action during his SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME cameo.
An official synopsis for the series reads, “Matt Murdock ([Charlie] Cox), a blind lawyer with heightened abilities, is fighting for justice through his bustling law firm, while former mob boss Wilson Fisk ([Vincent] D’Onofrio) pursues his own political endeavors in New York. When their past identities begin to emerge, both men find themselves on an inevitable collision course.”
Deadline offered a few more details:
With a nine-part installment, BORN AGAIN follows Murdock’s quest for justice, which spans his daytime (and legal) efforts via his firm and nighttime crime-fighting through his heightened abilities. Meanwhile, former mob boss Wilson Fisk (D’Onofrio) pursues his own political aspirations in the city.
Marvel Studios executive Brad Winderbaum teased the kind of atmosphere the show will create.
“Imagine if New York City was as intricate and problematic and scary as the world of GAME OF THRONES,” he said to the fans. “All these forces vying for control, and it can be really hopeful at times, and really violent at times, and dark, but also there’s light at the end of the tunnel if you could just fight for it.”
