Erin Krakow’s WCTH Costar Calmed Her Nerves When…

WHEN CALLS THE HEART stars Erin Krakow and Kevin McGarry love working together.

“You are just so grounded and friendly,” McGarry told Krakow at The Hallmark Christmas Experience in December. “And I think the reason we are able to take something off the page sometimes that doesn’t seem like it’s a big deal or it’s going to fly as high as it does, it’s just because you’re so present and you’re so willing to kind of take whatever I give you…You’re there with me all the time…And I’m very lucky.”

The two play romantic interests Elizabeth Thornton and Nathan Grant on the show. But Krakow revealed she was extremely nervous going into their first chemistry read.

“Erin was nervous for a good reason. Jack (Daniel Lissing) died in an accident. Hearties were outraged at the time. Daniel almost got replaced, but it would’ve been hard to duplicate Jack and Elizabeth’s chemistry,” Soap Hub explained.

McGarry was “the first person I read with and…I was really nervous. I was trembling,” Krakow shared. “I was so fearful of this whole situation, and I told him that. He’s the one trying to get a job and he’s the one telling me, ‘You’re gonna be fine…’ So, working with Kevin is always a comfort and I love working with you. You’re such a great actor and you elevate my game.”

Season 12 sees Elizabeth and Nathan’s relationship move to the next level.

“As fans may remember, Nathan and Elizabeth had an on-and-off rapport ever since the former first appeared in season 6,” Good Housekeeping reminded fans. “Although Elizabeth was a widow after losing her husband Jack Thornton (Daniel Lissing) and had broken off an engagement to Lucas in season 10, she and Nathan finally decided to give things a go in the season 11 finale.”

WHEN CALLS THE HEART Season 12 began airing on Jan. 5, and new episodes drop weekly at 9 p.m. on Sundays on the Hallmark channel.
