What Will Happen to Elizabeth and Nathan in WCTH Season 12?

WHEN CALLS THE HEART returns in January for its twelfth season, and fans are taking to the internet to predict what will happen.
A post to the WCTH Instagram page shows several clips of the empty set.
“Can you feel it? The anticipation is building for the season twelve premiere arriving January 5th at 9/8c on @hallmarkchannel! Any season twelve predictions, #Hearties?” the caption reads.
Hearties responded with what they think Season 12 holds.
“Nathan and Elizabeth’s epic love story is almost here! Can’t wait!” one person said. “I think Jack is coming back since they said that a long lost loved one is coming back!” another person predicted. Others chimed in on their excitement for the show: “I’m really looking forward to the return to Hope Valley. It will be exciting and wonderful. I can feel it in the truest sense of the word. S12 will be unsurpassable.”

Some sort of resolution to Nathan and Elizabeth’s love story seems likely.
“As fans may remember, Nathan and Elizabeth had an on-and-off rapport ever since the former first appeared in season 6,” Good Housekeeping reminded fans. “Although Elizabeth was a widow after losing her husband Jack Thornton (Daniel Lissing) and had broken off an engagement to Lucas in season 10, she and Nathan finally decided to give things a go in the season 11 finale.”
LITTLE HOUSE ON THE PRAIRIE star Melissa Gilbert will make her WCTH debut this season as Georgie McGill.
“WHEN CALLS THE HEART has long drawn comparisons to LITTLE HOUSE ON THE PRARIE, for its charming and compelling stories of hope, human connection and frontier survival,” said Kelly Garrett, vice president of Hallmark Media programming, during the annual Hearties Family Reunion event. “It was only fitting that the first people to hear this special news were the Hearties — devoted fans who have celebrated the show year after year and made it such a success. The energy being here with them to share this news is electric and we cannot wait for them to meet Georgie next year.”
