The original PARENT TRAP stars Hayley Mills and her double Susan Henning both went on to date rock stars.
Mills will always be a little jealous of Henning — who became a dancer and dated Elvis.
“Beautiful, beautiful girl,” Mills recalled. “And she was in a show with my great love at the time, Elvis Presley. And as a result, she went out with Elvis Presley, so I think she scored there.”
Mills confessed she did go out with the Beatle’s lead guitarist.
“Well, I went out with George Harrison,” she said.
She recalled the date with him at a charity event in her 2021 memoir, Forever Young.

“As soon as we sat down, we were surrounded — people were leaning on our heads, their sharp elbows and grumbling stomachs in our faces,” she wrote. “George was marvelous, signing autographs and smiling at everybody, however pushy. One woman actually knelt in my lap to get at him!”
“The film we were due to see was CHARADE, with Cary Grant and Audrey Hepburn,” the actress said. “But we didn’t get a chance to watch much of it, because people kept crawling on their hands and knees up the aisle, with autograph books in their teeth, to reach George.”
It was complete chaos.
She said, “We decided to try to sneak out before the end. But there was more screaming, fighting and stabbing pens.”
Mills added, “George jumped into the car and some fool slammed the door shut, leaving me stuck outside. I saw his face looking back at me helplessly as the car sped off, girls still chasing and banging on the windows.”
Mills also dated actor Leigh Lawson.
She had a great friendship with Henning — they spent loads of time together on the set of THE PARENT TRAP.
“Poor girl…It was pretty thankless because she was an actress, and it was always the back of her head,” Mills said. “I guess that would feel a little depressing after a while, that all they’re gonna see is my shoulder or the back of my head.”
“The only thing I think she didn’t like is that she had a very pretty little nose, and they had to make a cast of my nose and put it on hers. So if they got a glimpse, she turned a little bit too much and they got a glimpse of her nose, she had my nose,” she said.
In 2008, Henning detailed the time she spent with Elvis. She believes that he had searched for more meaning to life.
“At times we had talked about the Bible. And I think he knew there was something more. But I think when you’re in the business, you’re never quite satisfied with what it gives,” she said.
“I think he had a restlessness of an inner peace. And he had so much to give, but I think he was looking for maybe a peace that God might have given him, and I do think he had the Lord in him. But I think it was difficult to find in the circumstances he was in.”
Mills just celebrated her 80th birthday on April 18. Henning turned 79 in January.
