Erin Napier Hints HOMETOWN Might Bring Back Fan Favorite

In an new teaser for HOMETOWN shared on Instagram, HGTV star Erin Napier hinted that flooring expert Mike Husers — nicknamed “Mike the Floor Guy” — might make his triumphant return to the show.
“When y’all see who installed this oak flooring you’re gonna FREAK out (hint: it wasn’t @scotsman.co, who used it to stretch ha),” Napier wrote alongside a picture of her husband, Ben, on the floor stretching while looking up at the camera.
The Napiers have a longstanding relationship with Mike, and he became a beloved reaccuring guest on the show. The floor expert, however, has been on a haitus, which Erin explained in 2022.
“Guys, I know y’all miss Mike. We do too! He’s on a leave of absence caring for a family member with a long-term illness,” Erin wrote in a January 2022 post on X, per TV Insider. “We’re in good hands though with our new hardwood restoration experts Terry and Mike (!) You’re going to love them!”
Mike had also undergone a hip surgery in 2020 that he was still recovering from, which the Napiers and their fans helped support him through.
“America’s favorite hardwood floor restoration expert, Mike Husers, has an impending surgery to fix a hip injury from years of crouching and sanding,” Erin wrote on a GoFundMe page in 2020. “Walking and working are becoming increasingly difficult so let’s show Mike we love him and make his surgery cost and the eight-week recovery away from work (which will be harder for him to walk away from than the recovery itself) a little easier. Thanks far and wide to his many fans!”
Given their fans affection for Mike, it’s no surprise that the comments on Erin’s recent post were full of fans hoping for his return.
“Please say it’s Mike! We’ve missed him! 🤍,” one fan wrote.
“Don’t tease us, tell us it’s mike!!!! I’ve missed his sweet soul on the screen,” another added.
“We need Mike back on the show. His soft, sweet disposition is surely missed,” a third fan wrote.
While it’s not clear when the next season of HOMETOWN is coming out, hopefully Erin will continue to give updates so fans can know sooner rather than later if Mike is back.
