Father Sings Praise Song to Premature Son in NICU, Goes Viral: ‘God is Faithful’

By Movieguide® Staff

A video of a father singing praise music to his premature son has gone viral on TikTok.

The father, whose name is Daniel Johnson, is a Texas resident and shared the touching video of him holding his son and singing to him from a room at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center, Temple in Bell County.

“Remington Hayze Johnson,” Johnson wrote in the caption. “Proof that God is faithful.”

Doctors told Johnson and his wife, Emily, that their premature child had a low chance of survival.

“Born 4 months early and given a 21% chance of survival,” Johnson continued. “Today we are 2 1/2 months old giving God all the praise He deserves.”

The video displaying the power of God and the faith of the young family quickly spread on TikTok, with users flooding into the comment section to offer encouragement.

“Absolutely precious moment b/n a man, his baby, and our Heavenly Father,” one user wrote.

Another added: “This has me in tears!! Anyone who sees this has to believe there is a mighty God!! Bless his little heart!”

One user related to the Johnson’s experience, commenting: “Keep singing Dad!! So many days we worshipped in my sons hospital room. Sing to Jesus! Those were some of the hardest days but how grateful I am to God for meeting us through the healing.”

The video has over 250K likes and over 1M views.

A post on Storyful reads:

A baby boy born at 22 weeks and being cared for in the neonatal intensive care unit at a hospital in Temple, Texas, had a special moment as he raised his tiny hand as his father sang to him. Heartwarming video by mom Emily Johnson shows her husband Daniel singing Hallelujah Here Below by Elevation Worship, with son Remington Hayze raising a hand right on cue at the word “Hallelujah.”

Johnson told Storyful their baby was born with “21 percent chance of making it past the first 24 hours.” He has “amazed doctors with his strength,” she said. Daniel Johnson shared the clip to his TikTok, writing, “Proof that God is faithful.” Remington Hayze is still at Baylor Scott & White McLane Children’s Medical Center, Johnson said, “but should come home soon.”
