Florida State University quarterback Jordan Travis took time to thank God for “everything” despite a season-ending injury.
The athlete was carted off the field during a recent game against North Alabama due to an apparent leg injury.
A day later, Travis updated fans via Instagram.
“I truly cannot thank everyone enough for the many thoughts, prayers and messages that have been sent my way. I have been overwhelmed by the support from my teammates, coaches, the Florida State community and those all around the world,” Travis began.
“Although the injury I sustained on November 18th, 2023, marks the end of my Seminole playing career, the great memories created here at FSU will never fade,” he continued. “Being the quarterback here at Florida State University has been a dream come true. I am humbled, honored and forever grateful. The journey this team set out on is not over yet as all of our goals still lie just ahead. I am excited to be by my brothers’ sides every day as we continue our attack. We’re all we got, we’re all we need. Job’s not finished. Go Noles!”
Travis underwent surgery, and while his injury hasn’t been revealed, the quarterback shared his gratitude to God in a Thanksgiving Day post.
“Happy thanksgiving! People are probably wondering what I could be thankful for in a time like this, and man all I have to say is everything,” Travis wrote on Instagram. “I am so thankful for God, my family, friends, and coaches. I am so grateful for the adversity (ups and downs) that have been brought into my life because it has made me stronger. I would not change anything in my life right now, and I appreciate everyone that has supported me along the way. Let’s continue to spread positivity and love one another. Love all of y’all. Go Noles.”
Despite the injury, Travis traveled with the team to The Swamp to face their rivals, the Florida Gators.
The Seminoles came out on top, led by redshirt junior, Tate Rodemaker. Rodemaker and the Seminoles improved their season to 12-0 and are ready to face their next opponent in an upcoming bowl game.
