After years of being a bright spot in the failing cable industry, Great American Family has decided to make its content more easily available to a wider audience by launchingGFAM+, a live feed available for GAF and Great American Faith and Living.

“Great American Family is only available on certain cable and satellite providers, and even then, we are often placed on a high-priced tier that forces you, the consumer, to pay $10 to $30 more per month — for dozens of channels you don’t want — just to get ours…” said Great American Family CEO Bill Abbott. “It’s a frustrating limitation for our business and we have been competing with two hands tied behind our back and it is even more heartbreaking when we hear from viewers who love what we do but simply cannot afford the added cost.

“The great news though is we have fixed this issue! Led by our incredible Tech, Production and Engineering teams, starting today, you can stream a version of Great American Family LIVE — anytime, anywhere — with our brand-new digital app: GFAM+…” Abbott continued. “GFAM+ will give viewers immediate, easy access to a 24/7 live feed similar to Great American Family, with no cable required. Whether you’ve cut the cord or simply never had access to the channel, you can now enjoy the same warm, positive, entertainment without compromise we have become known for.”

The feed will be similar to a TV feed rather than on-demand options similar to GreatAmerican PureFlix.

Despite these hurdles that Abbott described for viewers to access his company’s content, Great American Family was the fastest growing cable channel for over a year when it first launched. Its faith- and family-focused programming offered viewers a desired alternative to the excessive content way too popular on TV today.

The network’s Great American Christmas has also proven to be an extreme draw, offering family-friendly, faith-focused Christmas movies 24/7 starting in November, with new stories releasing every week.

“This really is the most wonderful time of the year, and an extra-special time for families and friends,” Abbott said at the start of Great American Christmas 2023. “We are excited to begin spreading the joy of Christmas to our Great American Pure Flix members with uplifting and inspiring movies and programs in this season.”

Amidst this success, the company remains firmly committed to its audience and providing them with safe, high-quality, Christian content which can be enjoyed by people of all ages.

“We have a very loyal audience and we happen to believe the majority of the country wants to see traditional family values and really experience content that’s supportive of faith, family and country,” Abbott said. “And you look at Hollywood and 98, 99% of what’s produced is…anti-American, people of faith are demeaned and mocked, families are never shown in the traditional sense.”

“Currently, as we sit today, we are the leading streaming provider of faith and family content that’s supportive of country,” he continued. “Linear TV is a place where we have had a lot of success…we are on that…mission…and we will never deviate. It is entertainment without compromise. We’ll never compromise our standards or let our viewers down.”
