HGTV Revisits HOME TOWN TAKEOVER Locations With New Special

HGTV is checking back in with those who were helped by Ben and Erin Napier’s and Dave and Jenny Marrs’ HOME TOWN TAKEOVER in a new special.
HOME TOWN TAKEOVER: WHERE ARE THEY NOW? will spotlight Wetumpka, Alabama and Fort Morgan, Colorado — both towns that were previously featured in the HGTV reality show.
“The small town renewal movement is working! The Napiers took on the revival of Wetumpka, AL, and the Marrs jumped on board to help take on yet another community, Fort Morgan, CO. Now, they’re checking on the continued growth in these two amazing towns,” a synopsis of the special reads.
Wetumpka Area Chamber of Commerce executive director Shellie Whitfield revealed HOME TOWN TAKEOVER: WHERE ARE THEY NOW? will feature local spots like The Kelly restaurant, a Wetumpka High School football game and Restoration Coffeehouse.
“It is something people are not going to want to miss,” Whitfield told The Wetumpka Herald. “They should invite their friends and family to watch it. Wetumpka will once again shine on national television.”
Fans of HOME TOWN can also expect to see much more of the show. HGTV recently announced that, in addition to its Season 7 premiere in January, the show has been picked up for an eighth season.
Star Erin Napier celebrated the end of filming for Season 7 in an Instagram post.
“That’s a wrap on 110 episodes!” she wrote. “7 seasons of #HGTVHomeTown seems impossible. On the last day of filming a season, we have the Laurel legend for lunch: Vic’s. Love this crew and this show, about pretty houses to some, a ministry of community to me and @scotsman.co. Thank y’all for watching when part 2 of season 7 starts airing soon!”

Erin Napier just announced new installments of HOME TOWN.
“You’ve waited so patiently… and we are BACK,” she posted on Instagram. “The new season of #HGTVHomeTown premieres Sunday, January 7 at 8/7 ct. Watch it live on @hgtv or anytime on @streamonmax. Before that, our Christmas special will be airing on December 17! Put it on your calendar!”
Napier previously updated fans on new episodes of HOME TOWN in a joint Instagram post with husband Ben and HGTV.
“BREAKING NEWS: #HGTVHomeTown has been renewed for Season 8!” the post reads. “And if you’re anxiously awaiting the Season 7 premiere, know that we’ll have a date/time for you to mark your calendars shortly.”
Heavy reported, “Erin shared the post to her Instagram Stories to celebrate the announcement, writing, ‘always grateful to be coming back to your TVs!’”
