Actress Jen Lilley shared some encouragement and a challenge for the new year.
“Faith isn’t just something we believe; it’s something we live out,” she began a recent Instagram post.
Lilley continued, “The clearest expression of faith in action is love. The Bible makes it clear; We can have all knowledge, all faith, even the ability to move mountains, but if we don’t have love, we gain nothing. Love isn’t just an emotion, it’s action. It’s patience when you’d rather rush, kindness when it costs you, humility when you’re tempted to boast.”
“Love doesn’t keep score when you’ve been wronged. It perseveres when giving up feels easier,” she added, reflecting on 1 Corinthians 13. “A simple way to test yourself is to personalize this picture. Insert your name in place of the word love. Am I patient? Am I kind? Do I let go of offense? Am I easily angered? It doesn’t take long before you feel the tension does it?”

Although Hollywood often rejects Christianity, Lilley frequently uses her platform to share her faith and encourage others. Recently the DAYS OF OUR LIVES actress wrote a devotional titled Wake Up Your Faith.
A description of the book, which was released in 2025, reads, “With a firm foundation of Scripture, this devotional offers biblical wisdom and thought-provoking action steps to help you reignite your faith, claim the promises of God, experience the presence of the Spirit, and declare your heavenly authority. Reclaim the ground stolen by the Enemy and walk boldly with Christ.”
Lilley said of the book. “I was asked to write it. It was not on my radar. And I said no several times. I really asked the Lord, like, what do you want to say to people?”
But finally, she got some direction for the project.
“This book is to really almost spiritually rise up the dead bones that are alluded to in Ezekiel, you know, put on flesh like get you equipped and prepare the Bride of Christ,” she said.
As we enter this new year, let’s take Lilley’s advice and confidently walk in faith, love and boldness.
