The Robertson family of DUCK DYNASTY fame updated fans on matriarch Miss Kay following the death of Phil Robertson, her husband of over 60 years.
“We’re so excited and proud of her journey and where she’s been,” Willie Robertson, Miss Kay and Phil’s son, told TV Insider. “I think she was pretty much depressed after Phil passed away. They’ve been together since they were teenagers, so I think it was a struggle for her to move through that, but I’m happy to say she’s doing great.”
Phil died in May 2025 at the age of 79 after battling Alzheimer’s disease.

Now, about 10 months later, Willie said Miss Kay’s humor is returning, sharing a funny moment that happened during the ice storms earlier this year.
“She was bossing me around,” he laughed. “It was so funny. As soon as the power came back on, I go back over there, and there’s not a light on in the house. I walk in and now [she and her sister] got all the lights turned out and she’s watching DVDs. She told me to be quiet, she’s watching movies.”
He added, “Every time I went over there, it was funny, she was watching us on TV. I think that was helpful to her to have those great memories.”
The second season of the Robertson family’s reboot series, DUCK DYNASTY: THE REVIVAL, premiered last Saturday, March 7, with a tribute episode to Phil.
“When Phil passed, so many people reached out, of course, to express their sympathy and just ask how we were doing. And I think for us, of course, we were sad, but also it was a celebration,” Korie Robertson, Willie’s wife, said in the episode. Willie chimed in, “I would say, for most of his life, ever since he got his faith and understood God and had that relationship, he was ready for this day to come.”
Fans appreciated hearing about Phil’s legacy.
“‘That was the moment he lived for.’ To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord!! 🙌” one person said, referencing 2 Corinthians 5:8. Another added, “Love The REVIVAL & this episode! Please keep the clips of Phil coming ❤️ He is a hero of the Faith & no doubt that legacy lives on through his family 🙌✝️”
Although Phil’s passing was sad, the family continues to take heart that he is with the Lord now and that they will see him again one day.
