How This GAF Actress Keeps Her Faith Strong: ‘Search Him Out’

How This GAF Actress Keeps Her Faith Strong: ‘Search Him Out’

By Movieguide® Contributor

Actress PenaVega took to Instagram to answer some of her fans’ most common questions.

One question was if she ever has doubts about her faith and how to handle those doubts when they come up.

“I personally have not,” PenaVega responded in an Instagram Story. “That doesn’t mean that if you have, you’re bad or your faith isn’t strong…it’s just…life circumstances. Everybody handles things differently.”

“For me, it’s the one thing I just feel so confident in,” the SPY KIDS star added.

She said that she has leaned on her faith even more after her daughter Indy was born stillbirth in April.

“Especially after everything with Indy…I know He’s real,” the 36-year-old said.

“I experience God all the time because I choose to see Him in life. I choose to search Him out and find Him, even when it’s hard,” she went on to say.

In another Q&A post, the mom of three answered the question of how she is handling the death of her daughter. She said that while both she and her husband Carlos PenaVega “grieved” and “hurt,” they both have been “restored and filled with peace.”

“She helped us grow in areas that needed growth. She was LIGHT in our lives and always will be,” PenaVega posted. “Don’t get me wrong. What we would give to have her in our arms now… but we don’t want to live in her LOSS…we want to live in her LIGHT. [God’s] peace surpasses all understanding.”

Movieguide® recently reported on how God has helped them through the grieving process after losing Indy:

“His intention was not for us to feel this pain…He is going to turn this pain around, and He’s going to give us pain with purpose,” she continued. “I feel like if there was a slogan for this season we’re going through, it’s called ‘pain with purpose.’ …When you give your pain to God, He will turn it into purpose.”

While a heartbreaking event like this is never easy, the couple has found solace in God from the start. When they first announced the crushing news, they pointed to Christ, explaining how they still found hope and joy despite their pain.

“There are never the right words to say when it comes to loss. After a beautiful and peaceful delivery our daughter ‘Indy’ was born at rest,” the couple wrote in a joint Instagram post released in mid-April. “It has been a painful journey. But in the pain we have found peace. God continues to hold us in His arms.”

“Grief has come to us in waves. Moments of feeling absolutely gutted… then moments of feeling blessed by just getting a moment with her,” they added. “We can’t understand why things like this happen and we may never get those answers.”
