TODAY’s Savannah Guthrie’s latest book, “Mostly What God Does is Love You” just went to the top of the New York Times Bestsellers list.

The book, which was released Feb. 25, is also at the top of Amazon’s children’s book charts, per Variety.

The illustrated book shows children that God loves them while displaying his beautiful creations.

Guthrie’s intent is to show kids “how very cherished they are” so they can “share that same love by being kind and compassionate to others.”

Guthrie also has two other kids books: “Princesses Wear Pants” and “Princesses Save the World.”

Last month, Guthrie let her 10-year-old daughter, Vale, interview her about her new book. She told Vale that she began to share her fears and desires with God from a young age. She learned that “Even when [I had] times where I felt alone. I could always call God.”

Vale was recently baptized at Guthrie’s church in New York, which made the broadcaster proud.

After her baptism Vale said, “Today, God, I joined your family.’ And that gives me a lot of joy,” Guthrie said.

Guthrie’s new picture book comes as the children’s version of her book for adults, called “Mostly What God Does.” Guthrie’s intent for it is “to inspire you to venture down a path of faith that is authentic, hopeful, destiny-shaping, and ultimately life-changing.”

It’s 320 pages of thoughts on love, gratitude, faith and purpose. It offers “hard-won wisdom forged from mountaintop triumphs, crushing failures, and even the mundane moments of day-to-day living.”

“I’m not writing this book from some mountaintop where I’ve received some wisdom, and now I’m imparting it to the world,” she said of her adult book. “No, I’m still down here, struggling. Still down here, disappointing myself.”

“I’m still down here, needing faith, needing grace, needing mercy, needing love,” she continued. “That’s why I wrote the book — because I’m the person that needs to read it. And so I thought, if I do, then maybe others do, too.”

The author says her book incorporates elements of her faith journey.

“All of what I have come to realize is that all of that is my faith story: belief and doubt, you know, joy, and also disappointment and sorrow. It’s all part of my faith journey,” she said. “It’s all enhanced what I believe and have come to understand about God.”
