Joanna Gaines Spends Time With Youngest Son: ‘This Little Guy Makes Life Fun’

By Movieguide® Contributor

Joanna Gaines recently shared a look at a day she spent playing outside with 4 year-old son Crew.

“He woke up this morning and said he wanted to be a ‘tire man’ and then he changed his mind and wanted to be a butterfly catcher and that turned into becoming a fire maker,” Gaines captioned a video of her son. “This little guy makes life fun.”

In the video, the mother and son play with a bike tire and pump, then explore a fort Crew made in a wooded area. Gaines tells the 4 year-old to be careful as he climbs inside, then cheers him on as Crew builds a tiny pretend campfire.

Gaines is also mom to Drake, 18, Ella, 15, Duke, 14, and Emmie Kay, 12. She shares all five children with husband Chip.

The Gaineses are devoted to putting family time first. Movieguide® previously reported

FIXER UPPER stars Chip and Joanna Gaines are known for the homes they create, and their marriage is the foundation for all the wonderful work they do.

The pair married in 2003, and share four children, as well as a home improvement empire.

Chip and Joanna frequently discuss their marriage and how they juggle parenting, working and their relationship.

“One thing that I would say is our superpower is that Jo and I are not quitters,” Chip said. “Throwing in the towel is not something honestly that ever even comes to mind.”

The couple prioritize their family and marriage above work, and that includes bringing the kids along for Valentine’s Day.

“Since Chip and I try to go on a date night once a week, we don’t feel the need to keep holidays like Valentine’s Day all to ourselves,” Joanna shared. “We set the table fancy, we all get dressed up, and we serve a big, beautiful candlelight dinner. It’s our kids’ favorite too. I’ll never forget one year we served lobster, and Chip chased all the kids around the house with a lobster. It was hilarious!”

The couple even ended their hit show FIXER UPPER in 2018 to focus more on their children.

“They’re so young, and we want to give them the chance to have a normal childhood,” Joanna explained. “Family is the most important thing in the world.”

The parents also emphasize the importance of kindness and good values to their children.

“It’s in how intentional we are about reinforcing goodness within our home, nurturing our values as a family over and over again until it takes,” Chip said of he and Joanna’s attitude towards child-raising.
