Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin Celebrate 2 Years of Marriage

In September 2018, Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin were secretly married in New York City. They are now celebrating their two-year anniversary.

The couple held a larger celebration at the Montage Palmetto Bluff resort in Bluffton, South Carolina, on September 30, 2018, just two months after their engagement earlier in June. Over 100 people attended, including Kendall and Kylie Jenner, Jaden Smith, and Justine Skye.

As the couple celebrates two years together, they recognize the importance of forgiveness in their relationship and are open about the challenges of marriage.

“There was a lot of forgiveness that you needed to have towards me,” Bieber said in a Facebook Watch series. “And vice versa. We both had made mistakes and I think when we understand how much God’s forgiven us and given us grace, it gives us the ability to give each other grace.”

Baldwin Bieber echoed her husband’s sentiment, noting the importance of working through the difficult parts of the relationship together.

“Forgiveness is the biggest thing,” Baldwin Biber echoed. “You take a person with all of their mistakes, all of their faults, all of their decisions.”

Although American culture is infatuated with easy relationships and shies away from the commitment and sacrifice of a long-term marriage, the Biebers are trusting God and leaning into that part of their lives.

“We’ve had to work hard on our relationship,” Baldwin Bieber said. “I think that pays off in a way where you just become so connected to each other, and so close and just solid with each other. Obviously, you’re my best friend. I think that’s the biggest payoff, you get a best friend to do everything with.”

“That was really hard to work through those things but I think when you choose to work through those things, I feel like now that I’ve worked through that stuff, you and I are closer than ever,” Bieber said.

Bieber added that it revealed “blind spots” in his life that he would not have noticed outside of his marriage.

“There’s a lot of things I need to work on. Forgiveness things, jealousy things, insecurities that I didn’t even realize I had until I chose to spend my life with you,” Bieber said. “Realized there were blind spots in my life that I didn’t realize I had.”

Although there are difficulties, Bieber said that there is a level of security in marriage. He said that when God is at the center, it helps him love his wife unconditionally.

“I think the security marriage gives you is that you make a covenant before God to love that person for better or for worse, in sickness and in health,” Bieber said.
