Is Conservatism Becoming More ‘Attractive’? Hollywood Star Says Yes

By Movieguide® Contributor

Kelsey Grammer says the conservative movement is becoming more “attractive” to many people.

“I think in terms of the industry, there’s some people who just, they decided to close their minds off, and they kept them closed. They’re going to keep it that way. That’s how it’s going to be. But others seem to be softening a little,” the openly-conservative Grammer told Fox News.

He continued, “There’s a great thing in Alcoholics Anonymous where they say it’s a program of attraction. It needs to look attractive. Now, I think conservatism maybe is starting to look more attractive.”

“For some, it never will be,” Grammer acknowledged. “And that’s OK. God bless you. You’re entitled to make choices based upon what you believe and what you perceive.”

He shared that, under the new president, he hopes America can “reestablish ourselves as a country that means what it says and says what it means. You know, that’s really all I really wanted in the first place.”

Grammer has previously spoken about his conservative views, telling The Independent, “For me to be anything else would be a problem. I don’t go along with a lot of what is preached in Hollywood.”

“I go along with what is preached in Christianity. I go along with do unto others as you would have others do unto you. And I believe in all people: I believe in their desires and their lives and their worth,” he continued. “I don’t want to hate anybody.”

Grammer has recently been one of the many who are lending a hand to those affected by the devastating Palisades and Altadena wildfires that took place earlier this month.

The actor said he has been “quietly volunteering,” adding, “When you lose everything you have, and that’s happened to me a couple of times in my lifetime, it’s just [like], OK, that’s [when] you pick up, and you figure out what’s going to happen next, one foot in front of the other. That’s how it has to be.”

Grammer continued, “For many, they’re going to want to find a new way to live, a new way forward, a new place to live. But I know a lot of people want to stay, and I wish them well with it. And I’m certainly going to do everything I can to help.”
