Kimberly Williams-Paisley Updates Fans on Health After Fall: ‘No Sympathy Please!’
By Movieguide® Contributor
Kimberly Williams-Paisley is asking for “no sympathy” as she shares another health update with fans.
“Haven’t posted in the feed in a while,” the actress captioned an Instagram selfie. “Caught the sunset in my hair and thought it looked cool. I fell and broke my foot last Saturday. But look Im walking around! So it’s not too bad. No sympathy please! How’s everyone else doing today? Sending love to you.”
Fans of Williams-Paisley were happy to hear her injury is temporary, especially after she recently shared she had battled vocal cord paralysis for two years, which left her unable to speak above a whisper.
“I felt trapped in my own body,” she told PEOPLE.
After months of doctor appointments, physical therapy and, finally, vocal cord surgery, the actress regained her ability to speak.
“I still can’t yell down the road. And at the end of a long day of talking, I’ll sound a little more raspy than I used to,” Williams-Paisley shared. “[But] I feel empowered now. I don’t want to leave things unsaid. I never want to take my voice for granted — and I want to be brave in using it.”

In an Instagram post following her surgery, Williams-Paisley wrote, “I’ve been through shame & self-loathing, all kinds of training, breathing techniques, & braces & healing & laughing & crying & explaining. I’ve met many amazing helpers along the way who’ve become amazing friends & I’m feeling SO GRATEFUL.”
“In the last two years, I’ve found power in using my voice in new ways. I’ve healed old emotional wounds,” she continued. “I’m taking better care of my body. I’m managing stress. I’m dissolving shame. I’m feeling more whole, empowered & joyful…Was losing my voice worth it? Mm, not exactly. Was it worthless? Not for a second.”
