On July 18, the missions outreach organization Missions.Me launched their weeklong event of service in Los Angeles County called 1DayLA.

“1DayLA is a collaborative movement of organizations and volunteers from across the world uniting to provide the greatest display of love the city of Los Angeles has ever experienced,” the Missions.Me website reads.

The ministry seeks to answer one question: “What can love do?”

“1DayLA is mobilizing 20,000 volunteers from across Southern California to serve the county of Los Angeles from July 18-24, culminating in The Freedom Experience at the brand new SoFi Stadium on July 24,” the website explains. “The unprecedented movement will unite and offer communities across Los Angeles, California hope and help by organizing city beautification projects, back-to-school events, free medical clinics, homeless assistance, and aid distribution.”

To end the week of outreach, Missions.Me announced “The Freedom Experience” concert held at the newly opened home to the NFL’s Los Angeles Rams and Los Angeles Chargers, SoFi Stadium.

“The Freedom Experience” will feature Justin Bieber, Chance the Rapper, Tori Kelly, and Jaden Smith.

Missions.Me held a similar event called 1Nation1Day which took place in Honduras, Dominican Republic and Nicaragua. The missions project reportedly reached over 2.5 million people.

“We are living in a new missions era. The vision of 1Nation1Day is to unite the global church for the salvation and transformation of nations,” the website reads of the 2013 event.

Movieguide® previously reported:

Billboard reports that Bieber was inspired to join the 1DayLA movement “because of his strong and long-held belief that giving of ourselves in service to others is one of the most important things we can do. Bieber is committed to the powerful idea that a movement for change can start with individuals helping one another and their community.”

“So excited to join @1DayLA & The Freedom Experience with @justinbieber at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles ‪on July 24th‬!! 🙌🏼🙌🏼,” Jobe said. “The unprecedented movement will unite 20,000 team members and offer communities across Los Angeles, California hope and help by organizing city beautification projects, back to school events, free medical clinics, homeless assistance, and aid distribution.”

“We believe that love can change a city, inspire a nation, and shift the national conversation from what divides us, to what brings us all together,” according to 1dayla.com.

Dominic Russo of 1DayLA said, “1DayLA and The Freedom Experience live concert event showcase the power and beauty of a city coming together. In the wake of a sustained season of crisis and isolation, people desperately need authentic expressions of hope, help, and love. This will be an unforgettable opportunity to celebrate and dynamically impact communities across Los Angeles.”

Missions.Me started in 2004 and have aided in the mobilization of people passionate about outreach.

The about page reads: “Missions.Me has successfully hosted thousands of people on life-transforming missions experiences.”
