Atlanta Falcons running back Nathan Carter recently explained what it would take to see “real change” in the world.
“It is easy to see the brokenness of this world. To look at the 6-inch television screens we hold in our hands, to rot our brains with politics and comment sections on social media reels, and to think there is no hope. Murder. Persecution. Kidnappings. Bombings. Rebellion. Division. Sin,” Carter began to explain in a post on Instagram.

The running back then referenced Ephesians 6:12, which reads, “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.”
“There is an enemy named Satan who delights in the world’s destruction caused by sin. As Tony Evans states, ‘He is happy for you to picture him as a cartoon character wearing a red jumpsuit with horns and carrying a pitchfork so that you won’t take him seriously,'” Carter continued. “This world is a prisoner to sin, and without the hope of the gospel of Jesus Christ, there is no logical solution. The gospel is the only argument that offers a remedy for the world’s brokenness. Through Christ, we find hope.”
“Jesus’ last words recorded in the entire Bible were this: ‘…Yes, I am coming soon…’ (Rev 22:20). Jesus has made this promise time and time again that He is coming back,” the athlete continued. “And ‘soon’ means at any moment, quickly without delay, whether you’re ready or not. This promise should fill our hearts with hope and anticipation, knowing that Jesus’ return is inevitable and near.
“The fact that Jesus is coming back is good news to those who have trusted in Him,” he added. “It brings comfort knowing that our Risen King will come to rid the world of all sin, death, and disease. But, for those who have chosen to reject Him, it will be a time of righteous judgment, where there is no turning back or changing your mind. Your rejection or acceptance of Jesus Christ will be sealed.
Carter concluded his post by urging his followers to put his words into action.
“Do you want to see real change? Spread the gospel of Jesus. Stop rotting your brain with politics. Get out of the comment section. Get off the reels. Get into the local church. Influence those around you by living a godly life. God is working, God is moving, God is producing beauty in the midst of the brokenness,” he emphasized.
Let’s take Carter’s message to heart today and change the world by how we show people Christ’s love.
