Phil Wickham Says ‘Thousands’ Saved During Tour with Brandon Lake

Christian artist Phil Wickham shared that thousands of people have given their lives to Jesus throughout his tour with Brandon Lake.
“Every night, God really laid it on our heart, me and Brandon Lake, it just felt so obvious we were supposed to give people a chance to know Jesus,” Wickham told the Christian Post.
The duo crossed the country during their Summer Worship Nights tour, which featured guest performers KB and We Are Messengers.
While alter calls weren’t part of their initial plan for the performances, God put it on the singers’ hearts to do so.
“We just felt like that’s what God was calling us to do, and every night we do a legit Gospel presentation. Then the lights go up [and] it has been crazy; thousands and thousands of people have lifted their hands, and the church [is] coming along them and praying for them,” Wickham added.
The Christian Post stated, “During the interview, Wickham was brought to tears a few times when reflecting on the number of souls coming to Jesus at his sold-out concerts.”
The last day of the tour was September 2 in San Diego.
“Take us back,” Wickham said in an Instagram post captioned with a sad face emoji. “We’ll never be over these nights and we’re already dreaming about next year…”
Phil Wickham’s newest song, “I Believe,” is currently sitting at Billboard’s No. 1 spot for Christian music. The song confronts the unbiblical “deconstruction movement” that is on the rise.
“I [understand] people trying to work out their salvation and stuff. But I just wanted to be a voice amongst it all saying, ‘Hey, I believe there’s one way, and it’s Jesus. I believe that He died on the cross for my sin, and He rose again, so that I can live forever,’” Wickham told Christian Headlines about the song.
“‘I believe in the hope of heaven. I believe He’s preparing a place for me. And I’m not going to be ashamed about it. Because I’ve found so much abundant life.’ And so that was definitely written in response to a lot of personal and external things that have come my way,” he concluded.
Movieguide® previously reported on Wickham:
Phil Wickham recently shared his heart behind his music and his approach to collaborating on music projects.
“There’s a service and thoughtfulness to the listener in worship music,” Wickham said, according to Billboard. “I’m not writing this to just share my story. I’m writing in a way that this is everybody’s story, and to give them a new prayer to sing back to God, this is something for us to do together.”
Perhaps this approach is why Wickham has been a mainstay in Christian music for a decade. This year, he released the popular “This Is Our God,” which spent two weeks at the top of Billboard’s Christian Airplay chart.
Despite his impressive career, Wickham understands that he would not have reached the heights he has without collaborating with other artists. He continues to work with other Christian singers and songwriters to create the best music that he can.
