Christian Rapper Lecrae Helps Install Portable Sinks for the Homeless

Grammy award-winning Christian rapper Lecrae helped install sinks for the Atlanta homeless population alongside the nonprofit Love Beyond Walls.

Terence Lester, founder of Love Beyond Walls, said Lecrae and Reach Records donated the first 15 portable sinks.

These hand-washing stations are so important because washing your hands is one of the biggest steps a person can take to stay healthy during the COVID-19 pandemic.

When asked why he wanted to participate, Lecrae said, “I wanted to continue doing the same stuff that I have been doing just in any city I’ve lived in and that’s just being close to the disenfranchised and the marginalized communities.”

In addition to installing these sinks, they also gave away “like a gazillion cheeseburgers” to those in need of food.

“It is encouraging to me that someone like him and the platform he has, that he is willing to roll up his sleeves and serve alongside you,” Lester told CNN.

Each day, Love Beyond Walls picks up the sinks to clean and refill them with soap and water.

Lester said, “I hope this catches on and spreads across the country. Even more than that, these sinks can spark the conversation of what else we can do to help the homeless facing this pandemic.”
