Rapper DMX Leads 14,000 People in Virtual Bible Study

Rapper DMX led more than 14,000 people in a virtual Bible study by reading from the book of Ecclesiastes on Instagram Live.

“There are no words more powerful than the Book,” said DMX referring to the Bible.

The 49-year-old rapper read from Ecclesiastes 3 where the author declares that there’s a time for everything. According to the clip posted by Phillip Lewis over 14,000 people watched the livestream.

The Blaze reported that DMX said, “He’s giving you the time to get closer to Him, to become familiar with Him.”

The Blaze also reported DMX gave an altar call for viewers to receive Jesus as their personal Lord and savior.

Although DMX’s live video doesn’t show up on his Instagram page due to Instagram’s 24-hour holding period, TheHipHopGuru posted DMX’s words on YouTube.

In the clip, DMX highlighted the need for prayer, hope in God and the need to “get into the Word.”

DMX does use some obscenities in his music and public platforms like social media but the rapper seems to know that a life devoid of Christ is futile.

DMX features his Christian faith in several of his songs, and he performed with Kanye West and West’s Sunday Service choir at Coachella in 2019.

DMX’s song, “Lord Give Me a Sign,” which released in 2006, features imagery of the rapper’s faith. Part of the lyrics read:

Lord give me a sign!
I really need to talk to you Lord
Since the last time we talked the work has been hard
Now I know you haven’t left me
But I feel like I’m alone
I’m a big boy now but I’m still not grown
And I’m still going through it
Pain and the hurt
Soaking up trouble like rain in the dirt
And I know!
Only I can stop the rain
With just the mention of my saviors name
In the name of Jesus

In the fall of 2019, DMX took a step towards improving his health and checked into rehab for addiction.

DMX’s Instagram stated, “In his ongoing commitment to putting family and sobriety first, DMX has checked himself into a rehab facility. He apologizes for his cancelled shows and thanks his fans for their continued support.”

DMX checked out of rehab in December 2019.

Now, the rapper appears to relish time with his family and his faith.
