GOD’S NOT DEAD was one of the highest grossing independent films of 2014. Pure Flix Entertainment announced last fall a second installment would be soon to follow. Now Sadie Robertson from Duck Dynasty has disclosed that she will be joining this sequel.
Sadie is not new to the limelight, growing up on the set of Duck Dynasty and placing second in season 19 of Dancing with the Stars. She has quite the loyal following on Instagram and her “Live Original” video she posted on YouTube received over 2.8 million views. In the video, she talks about her insecurities and encourages girls to be themselves, live original and not set other girls’ body images as a “goal” to obtain.
Sadie is also very open about her faith. On Good Morning America she said, “The thing is, it’s like God is my rock. I’m not saying that you have to live that way. I want to share my message because if it can help somebody it’s worth it. That’s just who I am. That’s just what I believe.”
The entire Robertson family is very close and supportive of Sadie. She believes in dressing modestly and being a positive influence to those around her. Sadie talked about getting her father’s stamp of approval on her outfits during DWTS and everyday life. “It is just basic modesty,” Sadie told ABC News. “It’s out of respect that I ask my dad if it’s OK. I’m a Christian, it comes with me everywhere I go.”
Sadie posted these two pictures on her Instagram while on set.
GOD’S NOT DEAD is about a freshman in college named Josh Wheaton, played by Shane Harper, who enrolls in a philosophy class taught by an atheist professor. His professor, played by Kevin Sorbo, gives the assignment to his students to write down, “God is dead” in order to get a passing grade and bypass this part of the course. Wheaton, who is a Christian, refuses and is therefore challenged to defend his belief to his professor and classmates to pass the course.
