More Detail:

In TO BARCELONA, FOREVER on the Hallmark Channel and Hallmark+, travel writer Anna has a chance encounter with a handsome stranger named Javier. Sparks fly, but she has to get back on the road and the two part ways. However, when she accidentally ends up in his town, Javier’s family mistakenly think they’re engaged. The couple agrees to play along for the sake of their careers, but will Anna and Javier be able to keep the truth a secret?

Travel writer Anna is happy to be back in Spain, celebrating the engagement of her friends, Erica and Nico, and finding new restaurants to share with the world in her articles. While visiting one restaurant, she runs into Javier, a saffron farmer whose family runs the most secret and exclusive saffron farm in the world. Anna asks if she can write an article about them, but he quickly refuses.

Things get off to a frosty start for the pair, but when they accidentally run into each other again at another restaurant, Anna and Javier begin to warm to one another. They talk all night and share that they both feel a connection, but Anna has to hit the road for work. So, they reluctantly part.

Later, Anna is traveling through Spain when her electric car’s battery drains. She walks to the nearest town, where she runs into Javier again. She has accidentally stumbled across his family’s secret town!

Javier urges her to leave, but before she can, his family intercepts them, excitedly talking about plans for their wedding. Javier had initially been in the city to meet with a matchmaker, because he can’t inherit the family farm until he’s married. Comically, Javier’s family mistakenly think Anna is the bride the matchmaker chose for him.

They both want to clear things up right away, but after Erica ends up in town to check on Anna, the pair agree to keep up the ruse. Anna will continue pretending to be Javier’s fiancée through harvest time, giving him time to think about how to tell his parents he doesn’t want to get married right now. In exchange, Anna will get to write her article about the saffron farm.

Things quickly get complicated, as both Anna and Javier do have real feelings for each other. After spending a lot of time with Javier’s mother, Anna soon begins to feel guilty and tells Javier they must tell the truth. He initially disagrees, but after a town-wide engagement party, he decides to tell the truth.

Before they can both come clean, it’s announced that the harvest must begin right away, and Javier and Anna get swept up in the excitement of it all. Anna decides not to write the article, because she loves Javier’s family so much and would never want to hurt them.

The situation comes to a head when Javier’s family find Erica’s notebook, which is full of information about them. They accuse her of being a spy.
