TODAY Star’s Daughter Asks Her Questions About Faith in Adorable Interview

Savannah Guthrie’s daughter got to ask her some questions about love and faith in a new TODAY interview.
“Mom, you ready?” the TODAY star’s son, 8-year-old Charley, said before snapping the clapperboard for the camera.
“We’re ready,” Guthrie said, smiling.
Her 10-year-old daughter, Vale, stepped into the frame to interview her about her new children’s book, Mostly What God Does is Love You.
“It’s great to have you here. Thank you for doing this,” Guthrie said, jokingly shaking her daughter’s hand.
“Do you remember talking to God when you were my age?” Vale asked her.
“That’s such a great question, Vale. I do remember talking to God when I was your age. I remember saying my prayers. I remember asking to not get a bad grade on a test or asking for a certain present for Christmas, but I also remember talking to God about my fears and my worries. And I guess that’s why it’s so important to me to tell you and Charley about Him, because I’m hoping you’re having a conversation, too.”

“Why is it important to you to teach me and Charley about God?” Vale asked.
“I feel like knowing God has been a really big part of my life, and even when times that I felt alone, I could always call God. And so I feel like if I can tell you about the God I know, that loves you so much, that you’ll carry Him in your heart just the way I have all my life, and that will always be with you,” Guthrie concluded.
“Thank you so much for an awesome interview!” she told Vale. “I don’t usually hug people interviewing me, but I’m just gonna have to now!” she said, giving her daughter a squeeze. “I love you, honey!”
Mostly What God Does is Love You reminds kids that God loves them unconditionally and shows them how they can feel and share his love. The book is currently available to purchase on Amazon and other sellers.
Guthrie got to share about her book on the TODAY show this week. After talking and watching the video of her interview with Vale, Guthrie’s co-star, Jenna Bush Hager teared up.
“Everything you’ve given to them, all of your faith that you pass down so gently, without preaching, without demanding, are in those little kids,” Hager told Guthrie. “And when the world feels dark, that is hope!”
