Stephen, Ayesha Curry Expecting Baby No. 4: ‘Really Excited’

The Currys are expecting baby No. 4!

Ayesha Curry, actress and wife of basketball star Stephen Curry, announced the news in an interview with TODAY.

“We just felt like…someone was missing. I’d be loading up the car, or setting the dinner table, and I’d be like, ‘I feel like we shouldn’t call it at three.’ And he was like, ‘Music to my ears,’” she said.

Curry shared that her husband wants to have a large family.

“He would want ten kids… easy for him to say, right? We decided to take that next step and everything’s just feeling so balanced, so we’re really excited,” she added.

Curry previously told PEOPLE that her pregnancy is considered “geriatric” because of her age.

“What’s been interesting has been my doctor’s appointments,” she explained. “I’m in my 30s, and so there’s all this paperwork referring to the experience as a ‘geriatric pregnancy’ and all the concerns that come along with that.”

“I think there’s something that needs to be more nuanced when it comes to women, their age and conversations around having children. Many women in their 30s and 40s are going through this for the first time and being told you’re ‘old’ feels alarming and wild. I think the narrative needs to be shifted a little bit,” she added.

Curry also shared how this pregnancy has taught her to slow down and appreciate every moment.

“But one of the biggest differences [of this pregnancy] is a new understanding that this really does pass by in the blink of an eye,” she said. “And in the blink of an eye, it could also all be taken away. That’s encouraged me to slow down and take in every single little thing — especially with it being my last pregnancy.”

Curry recently starred in the new movie IRISH WISH with her friend Lindsey Lohan. The movie released on March 15 on Netflix.

“I got to work with one of my closest friends,” she said of teaming up with Loahn. “So that was really exciting for me. Not to mention she’s like the best in the business. So it was really cool getting to learn alongside her as well.”

Movieguide® previously reported on the Currys:

Four-time NBA Champion Stephen Curry decided early on that he wouldn’t pressure his kids into playing sports.

The reason? Curry just wants his kids to enjoy being kids.

“We’re all backyard sports right now,” Curry told PEOPLE. “Nothing too organized. Especially for Canon, he’s only 5. So, we’ve got plenty of time. He’s an all-sports type of dude. But his attention span is just like a 5-year-old’s.”

The NBA star shares daughters Riley, 11, Ryan, 8, and son Canon, 5, with wife Ayesha Curry.

Curry uses playtime with his kids as an opportunity to build them up.

“It’s more just confidence building and their ability to find joy in everything they do,” he said. “I think that’s a huge part of kids these days, not feeling too much pressure on having to be successful or keep up with their counterparts.”
