While at the 2023 Gallatin Comic Con, the ’80s hit TV series THE DUKES OF HAZZARD stars Catherine Bach, John Schneider and Tom Wopat reunited and teased a possible reboot.
“First of all, John and Tom are family,” Bach said of her co-stars. “I love them both so much and always love to catch up with them. It’s a lot of laughs when we gather.”
“We have so much history and know everything about each other,” she added. “Well, pretty much everything. The secret to our long friendship is caring. We have seen each other through the good times and sad times…I do count on my TV cousins, and I think they know they can always count on me.”
She then teased that there could be a possible reboot.
“As far as a DUKES reunion, anything is possible,” she stated.
This wouldn’t be the first time the co-stars returned to their iconic roles. Entertainment Weekly reported, “The cast did a reunion TV movie in 1997, and followed it with another TV movie in 2000, THE DUKES OF HAZZARD: HAZZARD IN HOLLYWOOD. The series then got a big-screen adaptation in 2005…None of the original stars appeared in the film. Since then, other than a straight-to-video 2007 film, THE DUKES OF HAZZARD: THE BEGINNING, things have been quiet in Hazzard County.”
Schneider told Fox News Digital, “It was so great reconnecting with my castmates from THE DUKES OF HAZZARD. I don’t know how to explain it, but we have been closer than Bo, Luke and Daisy since the moment we met.”
“Through the best, worst and most challenging times of my life, Tom and Catherine have always been there,” he continued. “Forty-something years later, we could not be better friends.”
Wopat said, “It’s always a pleasure to spend time with John and Catherine…We’ve been blessed to get along so well for 45 years, and the bonds are still strong. It seems the fans are always jazzed to see us together, and they show up at all ages, from 8 to 80.”
“I would make the case that the fans have kept the show alive all this time, and it’s very much appreciated by the cast,” Wopat added. “God bless them.”
“THE DUKES OF HAZZARD, which ran for 146 episodes across seven seasons, followed the ‘good ol’’ Duke boys of rural Hazzard County, Georgia, and their adventures as Robin Hoods with regular run-ins with the law,” USA Today reported.
Movieguide® previously reported on John Schneider:
DUKES OF HAZZARD star John Schneider recently spoke out against cancel culture and shared his thoughts on the controversy surrounding a confederate flag in the classic show from 1979.
In an interview with Fox News, Schneider said he was not surprised at the critics.
“It was the older, uneducated generation that wanted to remove it from the series, from the airwaves. There’s a group of people that seem to base their values on removing what they’re against. I’ve always placed people’s values on what they are for,” Schneider told Fox News. “It had been attacked maybe 20 years ago. And then that attack went away. I guess the critics found another hobby. So no, it didn’t surprise me. But I tell you, my wife and I dirt track race. We are out among people from coast to coast all year round… And there are still children playing with General Lees in the dirt regardless of cancel culture trying to cancel it. And I think it’s because parents save their General Lees and pass them down to another generation.”
“It depends where you are, but from where I stand, none of the cancel culture antics is going to diminish what the show has represented to families who grew up on it,” he continued. “It brought families together. It was never about division. For years, I’ve had people from all walks of life come up to me and say how the show brought their families together. Generations watched it. And they still do.”
