THESE STONES Actress Promises Show Will Encourage You

By Movieguide® Contributor

In a recent interview with Movieguide®, actress Charlene Amoia discussed what a gift it was to work on the new faith-based series THESE STONES.

“It was just a gift from, God honestly. The creator and the director and being able to collaborate with these amazing women on this project, that its whole purpose is to give people hope in times when they are feeling all alone,” she explained. “So, to be able to do what my passion is, you know, with acting and also in a structure in which we’re really trying to reach people’s hearts and provide encouragement and hope is just…like the biggest gift a job can be.”

Amoia plays Eliana, the main character’s mom. The cast also includes Karen Abercrombie, Cameron Arnett and Madeline Carroll.

Amoia explained the premise of the show and what the title THESE STONES means.

“During each episode, we deal with some contemporary situation where there’s an issue presented with a person, whether it’s addiction or self-harm or infertility — something that someone’s struggling with,” she said. “We take a Bible character from the actual Bible who dealt with something similar and have them show up in present day in regular garb and tell their story in a way that’s relatable to the person dealing with the issue now.”

“And throughout the process, encouragement is given on stones where it would be like ‘hope’ or ‘forgiven’ or whatever it is that person can hold on to…like a little message from God while they are dealing with this issue,” she added.

Amoia explained how acting in this series has touched her personally.

“Working with these women on this project has been one of the biggest blessings in my career because it was just so full of love and all of us really wanting to touch hearts. The purpose underneath it just felt so fulfilling,” she said.

THESE STONES premiered on UP Faith & Family on Sept. 2.

A synopsis of the first episode reads, “In this uplifting new series, a young woman, mourning the loss of her mother, finds herself drawn into a supernatural system partnering her with Bible characters and working undercover to help people in crisis today.”

Part of Movieguide®’s review reads:

THESE STONES tells imaginative, well-acted stories. The stories are full of overt Christian elements and valuable biblical lessons about trusting God. With each episode, THESE STONES shows Bible characters helping people in the real world, teaching them moral and spiritual truths about love, courage, faith, and peace. The production values in THSES STONES are low budget, but the performances convey uplifting messages. MOVIEGUIDE® advises caution due to theological issues and scenes depicting and describing death.
