Viral comedian Trey Kennedy prays that whatever he does, it points back to God.
“Every day, we have the chance to reflect God in the way we speak, love, forgive, serve, and show up,” Sadie Robertson Huff shared in a clip of her speaking with Kennedy on her “WHOA That’s Good” podcast. “What if our lives became so marked by His character that when people look at us…they see Him? 🩷”
“I always repeat this prayer before I go on stage or a big moment, like, you know, ‘more of Him, less of me,’ John 3:30,” Kennedy told Huff in the video clip. “I know that’s paradoxical, but just the focus of as I self-promote constantly, and I’m kind of like, ‘Give me attention, give me attention’…I just want it to hopefully feel like we’re normal folks just trying to do our best.”
He and his wife, Katie, are humble, God-fearing people at their core.

“We just try to do our best and if all my socials get deleted tomorrow, then we’ll deal with that and move on or if God wants to take another direction, we’ll do that,” Kennedy explained.
Kennedy is a popular comic on social media who is making waves in the comedy space. He got his start in Vine and later gained a lot of traction on Instagram. Now he does comedy tours all over the U.S.
“[It was a] whirlwind getting thrust into live comedy shows and touring because of all the success I’ve been able to have on social media,” Kennedy said.
All of his jokes are clean and wholesome enough for the whole family to hear.
His desire to create clean comedy came from his background. He was raised by Christian parents. Many of his videos play on his faith-based upbringing and experiences.
“That’s the kind of comedy I gravitate towards and want to write,” he told Revue in 2023. “And you hear a lot of people who come to my shows just say thanks for making stuff my kids can enjoy, and I can enjoy with my family.”
“We get people all the time, like some 24 year old kid and their 50 year old parents come to the show and it’s cool to see the comedy kind of translate to a broad age range,” he explained. “And I think that’s the most thrilling part to me, that it’s bringing people together just to have a good time.”
Kennedy is currently making people laugh on his The Relatable Tour, which started in October and will run until May 2026.
