Sadie Robertson Huff sat down with Christian influencer Trey Kennedy to talk about humility — something the comedian knows well.

Kennedy said he’s “been humiliating myself for a decade now…I feel like a superhuman. Like I don’t get embarrassed about anything.”

“I grew up so shy and so worried about what other people thought and now you gotta go through it right and you come out the other side and…you kind of realize people’s opinions that are negative don’t matter and also that are positive don’t matter,” he explained. “They don’t know us. You kind of just realize I’m just out here trying to do my best, entertain people, be myself.”

It matters more what family and friends think.

Kennedy keeps all of his content clean and family friendly. He told South Orange County Moms his goal is to keep it fun.

“I first went viral 12 years ago now, and I’ve always just made videos on what I thought was funny and what I’m experiencing,” he told Coachella Valley Independent. “I was raised pretty modestly and conservatively, so I initially made clean comedy because I knew my mom was watching.”

“Life evolves, and I just felt authentically right being clean, because that’s how I was raised, and now I have a whole group of fans who really appreciate that,” he said. “I get those comments all the time of, ‘Thanks for keeping it clean,’ so I really take pride in that now. Especially as a dad, and wanting my kids to look up to me, I’m glad I’m a clean comedian, so they can enjoy it as well as the years go on.”

In 2023, he told Revue that he makes clean comedy because that’s how he was raised.

“That’s the kind of comedy I gravitate towards and want to write. And you hear a lot of people who come to my shows just say thanks for making stuff my kids can enjoy, and I can enjoy with my family.”

“We get people all the time, like some 24 year old kid and their 50 year old parents come to the show and it’s cool to see the comedy kind of translate to a broad age range. And I think that’s the most thrilling part to me, that it’s bringing people together just to have a good time.”

Kennedy is currently on his The Relatable Tour, which started in October and runs until May 2026.
