Warner Bros. just revealed its plans to bring 12 to 14 new movies to theaters each year, from DC Studios offerings to new horror movies and animated features.
“It’s been three years of investment, and you’re going to see these products roll out, and you’ll see them roll out strategically and with a real focus on cost,” Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav said, via The Hollywood Reporter.
Zaslav laid out the company’s plans to get more movies into theaters, announcing that the studio hopes to release “1-2 Warner Bros. Pictures tentpoles (primarily utilizing well-known Warner Bros. IP), 1-2 DC Studios films, 3-4 New Line Cinema releases (including horror), 1-2 WB Animation titles, [and] a select number of moderately budgeted original films,” per TheWrap.
For comparison, Warner Bros. released just 11 movies in 2025, one of which was the Apple-produced F1 that WBD handled distribution on.
However, for next year, the studio has a full slate, with 14 movies planned for release, including DC’s SUPERGIRL and CLAYFACE, the animated THE CAT IN THE HAT, horror movies EVIL DEAD BURN and THE MUMMY and the sure-to-be blockbuster DUNE: PART THREE.

It’s no surprise Warner Bros. is doubling down on their theatrical releases. The studio distributed five movies in a row that opened to over $45 million domestically. It also recently reorganized its marketing and distribution divisions into a “globally integrated model” that allowed the studio to “seamlessly coordinate film releases across territories,” per a shareholder letter.
“With each of these measures, our goal has been to better position Warner Bros. Motion Picture Group to maximize the potential upside for creatively successful films, while reducing the inherent downside risk,” the letter continued.
The recent success of SUPERMAN is also a driving force behind Warner Bros.’ recent box office success. The comic book movie has made over $500 million at the global box office and shows no signs of slowing down.
“DC Studios’ universe of characters represents not only one of Warner Bros. Discovery’s most valuable pieces of intellectual property, but one of the most valuable assets in entertainment,” the studio explained.
It continued, “In its long history, the DC universe has never been managed in a more cohesive, collaborative, and strategic way. James Gunn and Peter Safran [DC Studios’ co-heads] bring a unified creative vision to this beloved collection of storylines, and initial progress has heightened our long-term optimism.”
With plenty of new and exciting projects in the pipeline, it looks like Warner Bros. is well-positioned to continue ruling the box office.
