Amanda Seyfried traded the Big Apple for country life — and doesn’t regret it one bit.

“I moved upstate long before I had a family. Staying here was the best decision for privacy, peace and nature. It offers a more balanced life than the city does,” she told Forbes.

The MEAN GIRLS actress says the move was “essential” for her “mental health.” And a “peaceful place to call home” helps her to manage “the faster lifestyle of the city, the high-energy of press events and life on-set” when she’s working.

Seyfried shares daughter, Nina, 7, and son, Thomas, 4, with her husband Thomas Sadoski. The kids help take care of their farm animals — several horses, a donkey named Gus, goats and a handful of chickens.

“I can see them learning what a responsibility and treat it is to care for pets, even at their young ages,” she said. “I think all pets give us purpose. And because they do so much to enrich our lives, we are responsible for theirs — which includes managing their health and wellness.”

“It’s insane how much I can feel so accomplished and successful here without having to be in a successful movie,” she told the New York Times in 2020.

Many celebrities have made the decision to move out of major cities in favor of a slower pace of life.

Actor Kirk Cameron recently traded California for Tennessee.

“Certainly there’s the concerns of politics and crime and the economy, but…I’m finding California refugees all over Tennessee and Texas and Florida and places like this,” the actor told Fox News of his decision. “There’s been a flood of talent and creatives who have left California.”

His sister, actress Candace Cameron Bure, also fled for Nashville. They felt that their values were not being represented in Hollywood and that they weren’t physically safe.

“Bure recalled that her family had ‘quite a few problems over the years’ with fans taking photos, hiding on their property and coming up to their door,” Fox11 reported.
