A-Lister Teams Up With BLIPPI, and Her Kids Are Thrilled

Hit preschool show BLIPPI is partnering up with A-lister Amanda Seyfried, and her kids couldn’t be more thrilled.
“Seyfried appears in a new music video for the hit BLIPPI song ‘Excavator,’ which has been remade into a duet between her and Blippi — and given a Broadway spin,” Variety reported. “In the video, Blippi and Seyfried discover that they both love excavators, and they perform a song-and-dance number during an excavator-inspired play date.”
The partnership comes as BLIPPI celebrates its 10th anniversary. It’s a special moment for the MAMA MIA! star, too, whose kids think she’s “the coolest” because of the team-up.
“My kids are absolutely captivated by BLIPPI,” she said. “It’s wonderful to see them so entertained while learning. That need for imaginative play is one of the reasons I started my children’s playhouse company, Make It Cute, and we’re thrilled to be partnering with BLIPPI.”
Movieguide® previously reported on BLIPPI’s entertainment and educational value:
BLIPPI’S ADVENTURES is one of the few Netflix kids’ shows that has real-life actors and ordinary people instead of animated ones. The show’s top two values are curiosity and fun. However, Blippi is usually focused a little more on interacting with or learning about a place or object than interacting with others, but when he does, he is polite and kind. He is always very safety-conscious, as is emphasized whenever he buckles a seat belt or walks slowly by a pool. The show is designed to keep young viewers engaged with high energy and fun themes, with a bit of learning thrown in here and there.
BLIPPI also partnered with Seyfried’s business, Make it Cute.
“Driven by our passion for responsible materials and philanthropy, Make It Cute set out to reinvent a timeless classic – the children’s playhouse. Our goal was to create a line of Play Decor™ that was adorable but also safe and planet-friendly. By fusing our love for creativity and charity, we created a brand that promotes responsible play while giving back to the community,” the website reads.
“We love the idea of being able to work with celebrities, influencers or organizations that are letting us get under the wheel in a different way than maybe what other people are used to seeing,” said BLIPPI general manager, Katelynn Heil.
“Amanda Seyfried is a great example where yes, you know her as being an A-list talent, but she also is really into sustainability,” she added. “And she created a kid’s brand that’s based on sustainability. So, how are we able to showcase the natural curiosity of some of these celebrities and bring that onto the screen in a way that is very natural and plays off of Blippi’s curiosity as well.”
