Former TODAY SHOW Host Praises God’s Grace for Miraculous Healing

Kathie Lee Gifford believes God miraculously healed her after she fractured her pelvis.
The former TODAY SHOW host injured herself when she fell earlier this year after undergoing hip replacement surgery.
“It didn’t take much, because I was weak in that spot,” Gifford told PEOPLE at the time. “And the next thing you know, I am back in the hospital with a fractured pelvis, the front and the back. That’s more painful than anything I went through with the hip. The pelvis is unbelievably painful. But anyway, here I am.”
After undergoing surgery for her pelvis, though, she noticed something different about the healing process.
“I went to my little farm outside of Nashville,” Gifford told TBN, “and I was my walker, and I had a private nurse, and she said, ‘Kathie, you can’t walk like that in the walker. You can’t be putting weight on your right leg.’ And I said, ‘But it doesn’t hurt.’ And she said, ‘But you can’t.’ But I said, ‘Shouldn’t I be in excruciating pain?’ The pelvis is not an easy thing, and she said. ‘You should be in excruciating pain. I said, ‘Can we call my doctor?'”

“So, we called my doctor, and he said, ‘Come in now,'” she continued. “He’s a believer, and he said, ‘Well, come in.’ I said, ‘I’m healed.’ He said, ‘Come in. Let’s take an X-ray.’ He brings in my X-ray and says, ‘You want to see it?’ I said, ‘I don’t know, do I?’ Because X-rays aren’t always good, you know? He goes, ‘That’s the beautiful hip I just put in you, Kathie. That’s a beautiful hip, and see that? You’re healed.'”
“By the mercy and grace of God, my pelvis was perfect. I’d literally been out of the hospital for two days,” she recalled.
She told PEOPLE that her doctor called her recovery a “miracle,” and she hopes her story will encourage others to trust God for miracles.
“If people are out there, looking for hope, waiting for your miracles, keep hoping, guys,” she said. “God hears your prayers. He knows what you’re going through. I’m just, I’m deeply grateful and I’m still praying for all the friends and the loved ones in my life who have not received their healing yet.”
