Try Not to Cry: NFL Star Reads Scripture Over Newborn Daughter
By Movieguide® Contributor
New Orleans Saints tight end, Juwan Johnson, and his wife, Chan, recently gave birth to a new baby girl.
Immediately after the birth of their daughter, Chan posted a video of her Juwan reading scripture over them.
The verses he read were Proverbs 31: 28-30 which reads:
28 Her children arise and call her blessed;
her husband also, and he praises her:
29 “Many women do noble things,
but you surpass them all.”
30 Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting;
but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.
Juwan commented on the post and said, “This is how I wanna lead my girls.”
Many other fans and followers commented on the post to offer their praise to Juwan and his leadership to his family.
“That scripture is an ode to women and he did exactly what it was intended for. Praising and honoring his wife with it. A wise man of God,” one follower wrote.
Another said, “Such an inspiration! THIS is what makes yall a power couple! Not the money yall make ore the fame BUT THIS RIGHT HERE! Always giving it all to God!”
For Juwan, his vocation is football but his purpose in life to share the Good News and to bring others closer to Christ.
One way he did that is by speaking at a surrounding high school in New Orleans.
“Juwan Johnson spoke to the football team at Warren Easton today about having good character, leadership, nutrition, and being the best version of yourself on and off field,” the Saints in Community Instagram page shared.
For those students who “exemplifies that the most will be invited to the @saints My Cause My Cleats Game and will receive a custom pair of shoes thanks to the Saints.”
