Why This Bluegrass Musician Glorifies God With Her Music

Bluegrass fiddler Carley Arrowood explained how she’s combined her love for bluegrass with her commitment to the Lord.
“I’m very blessed just right out the gate. It’s like all of these, I don’t know, accomplishments, and things that I’ve been able to do through the years, is just a testament to the Lord’s faithfulness,” Arrowood told CBN News.
“Gospel music, Bluegrass Gospel, is pretty popular throughout the Bluegrass music scene,” she continued. “We’re very passionate about our Gospel music. And it’s important for us to let people know that the Lord loves them and that He calls them out of their sin and into the right way to live, and that’s to glorify Jesus and know that he died for their sins.”
While Arrowood celebrates the Lord in her music, it is also important to her that she honors others in the industry who are also strong Christians. For example, her band uses guitars made by Hooper Guitars which have 1 Corinthians 10:31 engraved on the neck. Meanwhile, Arrowood’s fiddle comes from Bob Kogut who prays over every instrument he creates.
“I pray that whoever listens to it, whether they’re our age, or younger, or older, that it comes across, and that it pierces their hearts, or that the Lord pierces their hearts with it,” Arrowood said, adding, “we are blessed to have a lot of friends our age in it that are also believers and are also passionate about it like we are.”
As she continues to work for the Lord, Arrowood’s ultimate goal is to someday get to play in the Grand Ole Opry, though she leaves her future up to the Lord.
“It’d be nice to play the Opry one day, but I don’t know if that’ll ever happen,” she said. “It’s just whatever the Lord decides.”
Her debut album, “Goin’ Home Comin’ On,” released in 2022, and her sophomore album, “Colors,” released in March 2024.
“It’s such a gift to be able to do what I do, with the people I love. God has been so good and I cannot wait to see where He takes us next and what He does with this next release,” Arrowood said on her website.
