Why We Need to Let God Enter Our Hears This Christmas
By Movieguide® Contributor
Author and church leader Max Lucado is encouraging us to let God enter our hearts this Christmas season.
In a segment of TBN’s THE CHRISTMAS GIFT OF HOPE, he shared, “My daughter called us on December 21st, I believe, and she said, ‘Hurry, we’re on our way to the hospital.’ And she was with child. And we hurried and got to the hospital, but by then, the child had already passed into heaven,”
“So, that Christmas was telling me — that Christmas moment affirmed that God knows what that moment is like,” Lucado continued. “If you’re heartbroken, you’re going to be more heartbroken at Christmas, right? If you’re lonely, it feels like you’re going to be more lonely at Christmas. So, let this Christmas be the Christmas that God does what He proved He can do in that first Christmas, and that is enter our mess, enter our broken hearts.”
He concluded, “Let Him enter yours. It’s not so messy that he’ll turn away. He came for moments just like this, and He’ll come for you in this moment.”

“Oh, the things we do to give gifts to those we love,” he wrote. “But we would do it all again. Having pressed the grapes of service, we drink life’s sweetest wine — the wine of giving. We are at our best when we are giving. In fact, we are most like God when we are giving.”
Lucado also shared his love of Christmas in last year’s BECAUSE OF BETHLEHEM.
“God knows what it’s like to be a human,” he told Daily Citizen. “When I talk to Him about deadlines or long lines or tough times, He understands. He’s been there. He’s been here. Because of Bethlehem, I have a friend in heaven. Because of Bethlehem, I have a Savior in heaven.”
