Will WHEN CALLS THE HEART Return for Season 10?

After the finale of WHEN CALLS THE HEART Season 9 on May 22, the show’s diehard fans, also known as Hearties, wondered if Season 10 would be announced.
Last year, WCTH was one of the most-watched shows on cable television.

WCTH, which has become a tentpole performer for the Hallmark Channel over its eight seasons, posted successful numbers again amid the pandemic.
According to Nielsen, the eighth season averaged 3 million total viewers, which makes it the most-watched original scripted series on ad-supported cable year-to-date.
According to Newsweek after another successful year, WHEN CALLS THE HEART outperformed all cable shows except YELLOWSTONE.
However, Hallmark has yet to renew WCTH for Season 10.
Last year, Erin Krakow, who plays Elizabeth Thatcher in the show, was announced for Season 9 alongside the Season 8 finale.
While the new season is not yet confirmed, some cast and crew have already discussed what Season 10 could hold for their on-screen characters.
Showrunner John Tinker revealed on the Heart to Heart YouTube show: “I do think in some fashion, should we go to Season 10, we need to address the message that Jack gave Abigail. Somehow, that’s going to have to be conveyed in a fulfilling, satisfying way.”
WHEN CALLS THE HEART remains of the most uplifting, family-friendly options on TV, which Movieguide® previously honored at past Movieguide® Award Galas.
The series’ creator Brian Bird said at a Movieguide® Gala:
The world needs hope right now. And hope, faith, and love is what we do best on When Calls the Heart. It’s kind of revolutionary programming, I think, in today’s day and age, right? It wasn’t, maybe 10, 15 years ago. I don’t think there’s really any other family programs, except for what the Hallmark Channel puts on. We love the fact that a whole family can watch together, and people don’t have to be off in their separate rooms, on their little iPads, they can watch as a family and learn from the show, and discuss the show and take it, have a deeper conversation about what they’ve seen.
