More Detail:
In the first episode of Season One, Morgan Gillory is down on her luck, a single mom desperately trying to make ends meet. Despite her challenges, she manages to be diligent in parenting while maintaining a good sense of humor with plenty of love for her three children. At night, she works as a cleaning lady at the Los Angeles Police Department. While on her shift, she accidentally uncovers mistakes in an open criminal case. Possessing an exceptionally high I.Q. peppered with a good dose of OCD, Morgan “fixes” the case on the LAPD crime board.
Cranky Detective Karadec is not amused. He wants Morgan arrested. However, when police Lieutenant Selena Soto realizes that Morgan’s gifts would be a great asset in helping the team solve crime, she sets out to recruit her as a permanent detective consultant. Morgan refuses at first. However, Morgan has a mystery of her own that she needs to solve. Could working as a consultant allow her to solve this mystery, as well as help her provide a good living for her family?
HIGH POTENTIAL checks all the boxes of the beloved quirky detective series of days gone by, such as MONK, MURDER SHE WROTE, and COLOMBO. Morgan Gillory is a likable character who always tries to do the right thing, but her gift can also be her curse. She has difficulty fitting for being “different.” Her character plays remarkably well against her cranky “by the book” co-worker, Detective Karadec, who is committed to reigning her in. Gillory is equally committed to helping him see a world of truth outside the box. The new hit show is highly entertaining, funny, and full of heart.
