MY SOUL TO TAKE

What You Need To Know:

MY SOUL TO TAKE is an abhorrent, ultra-violent, pagan horror movie about a serial killer stalking the lives of seven teenagers in order to reap their souls. The teenagers, all born on the same day 16 years ago, perform an occult ritual to keep the famous “Riverton Ripper” from returning to their town. When the ritual is interrupted, the teenagers fear that the Ripper is coming to reap their souls. One by one, the teenagers are killed off in violent ways, and they all know that the Ripper has possessed one of them. The remaining teenagers must discover and stop the true Ripper before he kills them all.

MY SOUL TO TAKE has a very strong pagan worldview with many occult elements. There’s an over-abundance of bloodletting. It also contains disturbing sexual dialogue among teenage characters and plenty of very strong foul language. Although there is a Christian character who quotes Scripture and prays in Christ’s name, she is stereotyped by the writer and suffers the same violent fate at the occult killer’s hands. Media-wise viewers should avoid MY SOUL TO TAKE and seek out more worthwhile entertainment.

More Detail:

MY SOUL TO TAKE is an abhorrent, ultra-violent, pagan horror about a serial killer stalking the lives of seven teenagers in order to reap their souls.

Sixteen years ago, a man who had been diagnosed with multiple personality disorder went on a killing rampage in his hometown of Riverton. Known to the townspeople as “the Riverton Ripper,” this serial killer claimed he was the host of the souls and every life he took would be a soul added to him. The police cornered him as he tried to slaughter his family, and the law was able to kill the Ripper. At the same time, across town, the hospital was inundated with seven births on the same night the Ripper was killed.

Now, 16 years later, the Riverton Seven, as they are known, are all celebrating their 16th birthdays with an occult ritual to keep the Ripper away from Riverton. However, when the ritual is interrupted, the teenagers fear that the Ripper is coming to reap their souls. One by one, the teenagers are killed off in violent ways, and they all know that the Ripper has possessed one of them. The remaining teenagers must discover and stop the true Ripper before he kills them all.

MY SOUL TO TAKE is a rehashed, pagan horror movie. The plot is predictable. The content is abhorrent. The script is retread. The directing is clichéd. The movie is, ultimately, unfulfilling as a truly frightening thriller.

MY SOUL TO TAKE has a very strong pagan worldview with strong occult elements. It also has an over-abundance of violence and bloodletting. Finally, it also contains some disturbing sexual dialogue amongst teenage characters, and it has an extreme amount of very strong foul language. Although there is a Christian character in the movie who quotes scripture and prays in Jesus’ name, she is stereotyped by the writer and suffers the same violent fate at the hands of the occult killer. Media-wise viewers should avoid MY SOUL TO TAKE and seek out more worthwhile entertainment.
